First Statewide Endorsement in Signal Hill Council race rallies behind Jones campaign.
SIGNAL HILL, CA - Signal Hill City Clerk and small business owner Keir Jones announced the endorsement of Equality California, the first statewide organization to weigh in on the Signal Hill City Council Race. Equality California is the nation’s largest statewide LGBTQ civil rights organization.
"Equality California is proud to support Keir for Signal Hill City Council," said Equality California Executive Director Rick Zbur. "As city clerk, Keir has demonstrated his commitment to fighting for all Signal Hill residents — helping to boost voter participation and ensure everyone's voice is heard at the ballot box,” he continued.
“It is truly humbling to receive Equality California’s endorsement. As the only LGBTQ candidate in this race, I look forward to working with Equality California to ensure that we are protecting and advancing the rights of every resident in our great city,” added Jones.
In addition to serving as City Clerk since 2017, Jones is an award-winning local small business owner and longtime community volunteer. As the current President of the Signal Hill Community Foundation, he led the effort to fund the $1 Million Capital Campaign for the new Library and funds the popular “Concerts in the Park” summer program which brings thousands of residents together.
