Long Beach Vice Mayor Rex Richardson Endorses Keir Jones for Signal Hill City Council

(Signal Hill) – Today Keir Jones, local small businessman and candidate for Signal Hill City Council, announced the endorsement of Long Beach Vice Mayor Rex Richardson.

“Keir Jones is a passionate member of the community, not only in Signal Hill, but for the greater Long Beach area,” said Richardson. “He has the right work ethic and values for the job of City Council. I am proud to support his candidacy.”

Richardson represents the 9th District on the Long Beach City Council, which covers North Long Beach. Richardson was elected Vice Mayor by his Council colleagues in July 2016.

 “I am proud to have the endorsement of Vice Mayor Rex Richardson,” said Jones. “I look forward to working with him on the issues important to our cities and the region on the Signal Hill City Council.”

In addition to Richardson, Jones has won the endorsements of Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia, California Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell, Signal Hill City Councilmembers Mike Noll and Larry Forester, and the Los Angeles County Democratic Party.

Recognized as one of “40 Under 40” by the Long Beach Post, he has also served on the board of the Legal Aid Foundation and as the President of the Long Beach Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.


Keir grew up in San Clemente moving to Signal Hill after college and graduate school where he earned a degree in business, with an emphasis in accounting and marketing. He lives in the West Bluff-Skyline HOA with his husband, Thomas-Michael, and his schnauzer, Winston.
